Freemont to New London on the Wolf River is still producing some limits of walleyes. The water has dropped drastically in the last three weeks therefore most of the fish are being caught in the deep holes on jigs and minnows. As the water cools down I suspect this bite will go to strictly a three-way rig system by anchoring up and pumping slowly above the holes. Petenwell has also been producing numbers of walleyes and whitebass by vertical jigging or pulling three-ways along the river channel. 10 to 14 ft seems to be the most desired depth right now .
I am looking forward to the first ice. Lake Winnebago should be prime ice fishing for perch and walleyes this year.
