Episode 2

South Dakota Ice

Show Date: January 12th & 13th, 2019

Location: Brookings, South Dakota

Guide: Jarrod Fredericks [ SouthDakotaGuidedFishing.com | 605-201-7299 ]

This week we headed west to South Dakota, a state that we haven’t been to in quite a while.  Mike Tietjen, lives in Brookings, which is about an hour north of Sioux Falls. Mike is our South Dakota guy for the Amsoil Fishing report, and with all the good reports we’ve been hearing from him, we couldn’t wait to book our trip.  Mike says that there are so many lakes, with a wide variety of species, it isn’t uncommon to pull up and trailer a few miles down to road to switch it up, or look for fish. We noticed this fact during our drive in, there are so many small lakes that look just awesome, we wanted to fish them all!  As promised, we visited a few different spots during our two days there, and found fish in all of them. While we were there, unfortunately, there was a weather pattern that slowed the bite a bit; but we could certainly see the potential of this wonderful area.

Episode 4

Lake Chetek Panfishing

Show Date: January 26th & 27th, 2019

Location: Lake Chetek; Chetek, Wisconsin

Guide: Dax Szegda [715-553-1501 | http://www.daxsfishinguideservice.com/ ]

We’re excited to get back out on the ice with our buddy Dax Szegda. Dax is a college buddy of Matty B, and always joins us in Ely for early ice each year.  Now we’re out on Dax’s home water in Chetek Wisconsin, and he’s guiding us!

Dax has us our in a basin to jig for crappies and bluegills.  During the day the fish are roaming around, but we do a lot of hole hopping to try to stay on the schools.  We’re jigging small tungsten jigs, as well as Kastmasters. Due to the colder weather, we need to work a bit harder than normal, but we can definitely see the potential of these waters.

Thanks for taking us out Dax!
