Episode 10
Bass Through The Ice
Show Date: March 4th & 5th, 2017
Location: Chequamegon Bay; Ashland, Wisconsin
Guide: Josh Teigen [715-813-0575  | joshteigen.com ]

We are on an unusual bite this week, as we are looking to catch bass through the ice in Ashland Wisconsin.  In spite of the record warm temperatures, there are still areas of safe ice in the state of Wisconsin.  Our guide is Charter Captain Josh Teigen, he regularly fishes where we are set up on Chequamegon Bay, on both ice and open water.

We are starting out with Hyper-Glides and Kastmasters.  We would normally be using smaller Kastmasters due to the bass being more lethargic in the winter, but John put a larger on on purely to be able to see his lure on his Humminbird.  It turns out that the 1/2oz Kastmaster is exactly what they want, a size lure that would normally be way too big, but works perfectly on this occasion.

 Episode 11
Open Water Walleyes
Show Date: March 11th & 12th, 2017
Location: The Fox River;  De Pere, Wisconsin
Guide: Brett Jolly [715-581-5678 | captainjollycharters.com]

We are excited to be out on the open water again, this time for our first walleyes of the season!  This week we are joined byCaptain Brett Jolly and his Dad, Rodger, on the Fox River in De Pere Wisconsin.  We are at the very early start of the spring walleye run. Brett tells us that this is the start of a month-long walleye bite on the Fox, from there he moves north to other rivers as we get later into spring.  In total, there is around two months of good fishing to look forward to.

Our presentation is very slow, due to the water temps still be low, just a simple jig & minnow is the best.  Moving your jig very slowly is the key, these fish are still moving slow this time of year, and if you are rapidly moving your lure, they won’t be able to catch it.

Episode 12
Fishing the Dells with Dave & Curt
Show Date: March 18th & 19th, 2017
Location: Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Guide: Curt Bregar [414-861-5612]

The rives are opening up in some parts of the state of Wisconsin, and our go-to river expert Big Dave Ehardt invited us to get out on the water and catch some fish.  Along with us is Dave’s nephew Curt Bregar, who is now guiding the river with all of the knowledge he’s learned fishing with Dave as he grew up.  Also along is one of Dave’s long-time friends Dennis.

We are using live bait, as well as plastics.  Live bait seems to get the fish going better than the artificial lures on this trip, and with the temps dropping quite a bit, the fish aren’t in the best of moods.
