Newton Lake, Newton Illinois- September 15th, 2011
This report provided by: Tab Walker of The Outdoor Sportsman's Lodge
Lake Conditions
Water temps 84-94 degrees
Water Level 1.5 feet below full pool
Water Clarity Moderately Clear
After a long hot summer, bass fishing conditions continue to improve on a daily basis, as night temperatures are now dropping to the 40's and 50's, cooling the lake water.
Some bass are being caught on topwaters during low light conditions. Other conditions require searching the breaks in 15-25 feet of water. Those bass are being caught on a variety of different baits, including Carolina rigs, Deep diving crankbaits, jigs, and Texas rig worms.
We filmed here last week with Bass Pros Denny and Chad Brauer, and those boys caught loads of good fish on the breaklines.
Fall dates are filling up fast, but don't worry-With our heated lake, we fish all Winter!!! Call the Lodge at 618-752-5075 to make reservations or request a brochure.
