Episode 36

Trolling Lake Erie Walleyes

Show Date: September 5th & 6th, 2020

Location: Lake Erie; Port Clinton, OH

Guide: Charter Captain Mike Patterson [419-308-6925 | mikessportfishing.com]

We couldn’t make it to Lake Erie this spring due to the coronavirus, but we knew we’d be coming as soon as we could. Captain Mike Patterson has been on a good walleye and perch bite lately, but the water was too stained for perch while we were there.

Lake Erie is a well-known walleye factory, having growth rates nearly twice as fast as Northern Wisconsin.  This fact is the reason anglers come from all over to have fun fishing, and take a lot of food home.  There is no possession limit, so you can keep your daily bag limit for as many days as you fish.

Captain Mike says the fish aren't concentrated in a single area, they are spread out and suspended in 30-40 feet of water, so trolling is the most efficient way to catch them.

Episode 37

September Cold-Front

Show Date: September 12th & 13th, 2020

Location: Washington County, Wisconsin

We fish every week, and we can’t choose the weather, so we always try to make the best of any situation.  This week a pretty severe cold-front blew in overnight the day we were fishing, but we were determined to find fish.  Matty B comes along, and together we strategize to find fish.

It’s certainly not the best day of fishing, but we find that days like this end up giving us the best memories to look back on.

Episode 38

The Tough Muskie Bite Continues

Show Date: September 19th & 20th, 2020

Location: Leech Lake, Longville, MN

If you saw the first episode of our muskie season a few weeks back, you saw that we got off to a rocky start. We came back to northern Minnesota hoping that first experience was just a fluke, but that was not the case.  We tried everything Pete and Rusty could think of, and these stubborn fish would not bite. Maybe next time?

Episode 39

Fish of a Lifetime

Show Date: September 26th & 27th, 2020

Location: Sturgeon Bay, WI

Guide: Dale Stroschein [Wacky Walleye Guide Service - 920-743-5731 | wackywalleye.com]

Accommodations: Sand Bay Beach Resort [SandBayBeach.com | (920) 743-5731]

We couldn’t thank Captain Dale Stroschein enough for our trip to Door County, because we had one of those days that we'll be talking about for a long time.

We had special guest join us who bid on and won a trip provided by Wisconsin Pharmical, makers of Baitmate Fish Attractant and Coleman Insect Repellent. Sean's bid raised money for St. Gabriel Church and brought his nephew Jake.

Targeting small mouth bass this time of year is one of Dale's passions. He tells us that they get bigger and bigger as it gets later into fall, and that this is one of best opportunities for an angler to get a fish of a lifetime, which is exactly what happened on this trip for Jake.
