Fishing report for:
Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin - June 16th, 2010
This report provided by Dale Stroschein of Wacky Walleye Guide Service

Whew!  It's been a busy guiding season for Wacky Walleye Guide Service!  We apologize for the delay in our fishing reports.  Now that we have a few moments, here's what we know:

Walleye
I have been fishing mostly out of lower Green Bay for Walleyes this time of year.  The technique I have been using is trolling, but casting cranks is another option. On most of my guided trips, I troll planer boards with both cranks AND crawlers.  These fish have been finicky with the crazy weather patterns we have been having lately, so I like to throw both presentations at 'em.  We have been catching limits on a lot of the days, but there have been some outings where the action wasn't so hot and heavy.  Also, a very encouraging thing I have been seeing this spring and early summer is the amount of small (7-14 inch) Walleyes.  It is looking like we may have a great few years of up and coming year classes!

Smallmouth
The smallie bite has been steadily improving.  This spring was one of the worst I have seen for the overall Smallmouth bite, but now I am getting into some fish.  They are becoming very active, and you can target them either in the bays or in and around the outlying shorelines.  There really isn't a particular area...anywhere from Little Sturgeon north as been good for the bass.  I have been having luck on spinner baits, wacky worms or rattle baits.

June is almost 100% booked for guide service, but I do have openings starting in July.  Keep in mind, I am still running my Wacky Walleye Stimulus.  Please call 920-743-5731 to book your guided outing today!
