Brown Trout Madness

Captain Caleb Zorn will get out and fish just about any time he can, and when the landings on Lake Michigan aren’t frozen in the winter, he’s letting us know we should get the boat out. This time of year, the brown trout are biting.  Sometimes they take a little time to locate, and when we finally found them, they ate ferociously!

Catfish Through the Ice

This week we’re doing something truly unique, targeting catfish through the ice! Pro guides Jozef, and Matt of Taps & Tackle Co. always seem to have a distinctive fishing opportunity somewhere, and this week it’s catfishing on Lake Du Bay. 

We’ve got a great group helping out with everything, and catching fish too.  We catch a mess of catfish, as well as crappies, walleye, and pike.

River Float Trip

We’ve done a few of these float trips in the past with guide Tim Maher, and it is always exciting. We love peacefully floating down stream, and working shorelines the whole way.  We’re targeting trout that are on their way back to the lake for the summer. throwing spinners, and floating spawn sacs on a bobber, and both are a fun way to fish. Huge thanks to Tim for getting us on fish.

Episode 12

Milwaukee Harbor Perch

We’ve got an interesting show for you today, one that was actually filmed in December 2024. 

We were invited to get out in the boat with guide Justin Neu, Justin guides in the Madison area, but was coming to Milwaukee to fish perch for fun, and invited us. Henry Abbott joined as well, and it was a great day of fishing.  

Soon after this show was filmed, it got very cold, and we were out on the ice, but we still wanted to air this episode to show that the perch bite that had dried up on Lake Michigan appears to have made a comeback.

Episode 13

Fast Action Lake Trout

This is probably in the top 10 best fishing trips that we have ever been on, and we only caught fish for 2 hours!

Capt. Caleb Zorn, and his buddy Joe from the Chicago area invited us along to fish lake trout in the Chicago harbor, but when that bite didn’t materialize, we took a gamble and headed off-shore. 

That gamble paid off big-time! We caught fish from the first cast to the last cast - seriously!  We had several doubles, with some sort of action happening the entire time. We caught them on Kastmasters, Moonshine spoons, and Kalin’s jerk minnows. 

Huge thanks to Caleb and Joe, it’s a trip I will remember for a long time.
