Episode 18
Detroit River Walleyes
Show Date: May 5th & 6th, 2018
Location: Detroit River; Detroit, Michigan
Guide: Mike Patterson [419-308-6925 | mikessportfishing.com]

We have never fished the Detroit River, and are excited to be here right at the best time of year.  Charter Captain Mike Patterson is guiding us during this walleye run.  The season isn’t open yet in our home state of Wisconsin, but it is here, so we are able to take some of these Lake Erie system fish home.

There is a lot of current, and vertical jigging is what’s catching the fish. Heavy lures, and jigs are necessary to get to the bottom where the fish are.

Episode 19
Beautiful Door County Walleyes
Location: Sand Bay Beach Resort - Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
Guide: Charter Captain Mark Jackson [ 920-743-5731 | wackywalleye.com]

We’re out on the bay of Green Bay fishing out of Sand Bay Beach resort with Charter Captain Mark Jackson targeting trophy walleyes. Even though the season has just opened, we aren’t looking for fish to eat, so the bite isn’t constant, but when you get a bite, it could be the biggest fish of your life. We are using lures that make noise, like the Livingston Pro Ripper & Kalin’s Google Eye jigs; to try to get a reaction strike.

We’ve got special guests with us Andy from Baitmate, and Jeff from Humminbird as well.

Episode 20
Spring in Hayward
Show Date: May 19th & 20th, 2018
Location: Hayward, Wisconsin

It’s been a while since we’ve fished Hayward in the springtime, and it sure was nice to be back.  Our guide is our good friend Pete Maina, Pete has lived in Hayward all his life, and knows the area very well having guided for a long time.  Pete’s dad “Tex” guided this area for many years as well, so we are very confident that we will find fish.

It’s a great time of year to look for weeds, both old and new growth.  Walleye, bass, pike, and crappie will hide in any vegetation they can find, so that is where we are concentrating our efforts.  For walleyes & bass, the trusty Kalin’s Jerk Minnow or a Livingston crank bait.  When we find crappies, we switch to the Crappie Scrub with a bobber.

Episode 21
The Second Annual Fishing with the Stars
Show Date: May 25ht & 26th, 2018
Location: St. Germain, WI & Lake Winnebago, WI
Guides: Guide: Pro Guide Rob Manthei [715-477-2042 | robmanthei.com]

We’re thrilled to be back in St. Germain Wisconsin for the 2nd Annual “Fishing with the Stars” fishing tournament.  3 winners from the tournament get the fish with Pete Maina, Rob Manthei, & John Gillespie; hence the name of the event.

Our winners are Caden, Lance, & Kyle.  We’re fishing the St. Germain area, and will be targeting a variety of different species.  We get out just after a cold-front, so the fish are pretty negative until it gets warmer later on in the day. Despite the conditions, Rob knows a lot of great spots, and puts us all on fish.
