JIgging Lake Erie Walleyes

Show Date: May 3, 2025

Location: Lake Erie, Port Clinton, Ohio

Guide: Charter Captain Mike Patterson [419-308-6925 | mikessportfishing.com]

Lake Erie is a legendary walleye hotspot—and that’s exactly why we love making the trip. It’s nonstop action, tons of fun, and best of all, there’s no possession limit on these fish! If you're looking to fill the cooler without the guilt, this is the place to do it.

While trolling works, we prefer the hands-on thrill of jigging. Captain Mike Patterson knows how to put us on fish, setting us up to drift over productive reefs. We get bit on hair jigs, plastics, and hard baits—which seems to change throughout the day, and if we’re not catching, just change it up.

There’s nothing quite like hauling in jumbo walleye one after another. It’s always an incredible time.

Episode 20

Chetek Chain Spring Panfish

Show Date: May 17, 2025

Location: Chetek Chain of Lakes, Chetek, Wisconsin

Dax Dax Szegda [‭(715) 553-1501‬]

We made it back to a part of Wisconsin we don’t visit often—Chetek. Years ago, our good friend and guide Dax Szegda took us out on the ice for panfish, and he’s been urging us to come back for the spring bite ever since.

This time, we hit it during a tough cold front, but Dax assured us that the back bays holding fish aren’t as affected by the weather as you might think.

He was right—we ended up with an awesome haul, including some jumbo bluegills and crappies. Solid day on the water!

Episode 21

One After Another in Vilas County

Show Date: May 24, 2025

Location: St. Germain, Wisconsin

Accommodations: St. Germain Lodge [715-542-3433 - www.stgermainlodge.com]

We had a picture-perfect day in Vilas County fishing with Rob—and were lucky to have Personal Injury Attorney Chris MacGillis along for the ride. We targeted walleye and bass, mainly using plastics like the Kalin’s Jerk Minnow Jr., with a few bites coming on crankbaits too.

The bite started slow, but one spot completely lit up—fish after fish. Mostly bass, including a few pushing 5 pounds, and even some bonus jumbo walleyes.

It was one of the best days of fishing we've ever had in the Wisconsin Northwoods. The only downside? It flew by way too fast.

Episode 22

Crappiepalooza: Hayward Edition

Show Date: May 31, 2025

Location: Hayward, Wisconsin

We’re back in beautiful Hayward—and this time, it’s all about the crappies. Joining Pete and Tex on the water, we’re all rigged up with Kalin’s Crappie Scrubs—even Tex, who’s usually a die-hard live bait guy. With countless great lakes in the Hayward area, the crappie bite is strong and should stay hot through June.
