Guide: Danny Herbeck [807-216-8866]

Accommodations: Andy Myers Lodge, Vermilion Bay [https://www.andymyerslodge.com | 888-727-5865]

Every year, Eagle Lake delivers something special — and this time of year, it’s absolutely on fire. Nearly every species is biting, which makes it the perfect opportunity for us to bring a few of our valued sponsors along to experience just how incredible the fishing can be up here.

Our good friend and longtime guide, Danny Herbeck, once again showed why Eagle Lake is one of the best multi-species destinations in North America. From hard-fighting walleyes and smallmouth bass to northern pike and even muskies, we managed to hook into all four species in a single day!

We’re so grateful to our sponsors for supporting the show and joining us on the water — it’s days like these that remind us how lucky we are to share this passion with great people. A huge thank you as well to Julian and the entire crew at Andy Myers Lodge for their outstanding hospitality and for always making our time on Eagle Lake something to look forward to year after year.

Jumbo Perch on the Bay

Show Date: November 8, 2025

Location: Bay of Green Bay, Green Bay, Wisconsin

Guide: Brett Jolly [715-581-5678 | captainjollycharters.com]

We’ve been making the most of the mild fall weather, and there’s no better way to spend it than chasing jumbo perch on the Bay of Green Bay with Captain Brett Jolly. Brett has this bite dialed in, and his setup couldn’t be simpler — a drop-shot rig with two live minnows just above a one-ounce weight. Keep contact with the bottom, and you’ll find those big perch waiting.

Joining us for the trip are two great guests — Brian Sticka, recently retired from Fleet Farm, and Brian Erdmann, Ryan’s dad and our on-the-water photographer’s favorite fishing partner. Using Humminbird sonar to locate schools, Brett had us setting up slow drifts over deep water where the fish were stacked. It turned into a laid-back, action-filled fall day on the water, catching some truly beautiful jumbo perch and enjoying great company.

Guide: Danny Herbeck [807-216-8866]

Every fall, Eagle Lake delivers something truly special — and this year was no exception. After an incredible multi-species trip, we switched gears and set our sights on the ultimate predator of the north: the muskie.

Our good friend and longtime guide Danny Herbeck knows these waters better than anyone, and he put us right in the middle of the action. Eagle Lake’s muskies were fired up, and every cast felt like it could be the one. Between the follows, strikes, and the sheer adrenaline of chasing these giants, it was another unforgettable day on one of Canada’s most legendary fisheries.

We’re so thankful to our sponsors for joining us on the water and helping make trips like this possible. And as always, a huge thanks to Julian and the crew at Andy Myers Lodge for their unmatched hospitality — it’s no wonder Eagle Lake keeps us coming back year after year.

Episode 47

Big Fish After Bedtime

Show Date: November 22, 2025

Location: Fox River, Green Bay Wisconsin

Guide: Brett Jolly [715-581-5678 | captainjollycharters.com]

It’s become a yearly tradition for us to hit the Fox River after dark in search of jumbo walleyes, and this fall served up one of the nicer nights we’ve had in a while. Conditions on this bite can swing wildly from calm and comfortable to downright brutal, but Captain Brett Jolly is always fired up for it. As he reminds us, the after-dark walleye run can be lights-out—or it can leave you scratching your head—but that unpredictability is part of what makes it so addictive.

This time around, we’re joined by two special guests: personal injury attorney Chris MacGillis and one of his clients, Casey, who were ready to see firsthand why this nighttime pattern is one of our favorites. What keeps us coming back every year is the chance to catch some of the biggest walleyes of the season. These fish are loading up on calories for winter, and when the landings stay ice-free and you can tolerate the nighttime chill, the results can be nothing short of incredible.

Episode 48

Cracking Ice, Chasing Bites

Show Date: November 29, 2025

Location: Iron River, Wisconsin

Guide: Josh Teigen [715-813-0575  | joshteigen.com ]

Cold weather has officially settled in, and many inland lakes across the Upper Midwest are already locking up with early ice. We knew it would be chilly on this trip, but when we pulled up to the landing, we were surprised to find far more ice than expected — nearly two inches thick in some areas. With a little teamwork and a mix of creative methods, we managed to break a path and get the boat into the water.

Once we reached the main lake basin, the day turned into a mix of chaotic feeding flurries and long, quiet stretches that kept us guessing. The best part? Every hookset was a mystery. We never knew what species we had on until it surfaced, which made each bite feel like its own little adventure.

Despite the frigid temperatures and early-season ice, it turned into a memorable day on the water — one of the last open-water trips before winter truly takes over. Huge thanks to Acorn and Pete for braving the cold and making the day an absolute blast.
