Lake of the Woods Muskie Chaos

There is nothing more enjoyable than a great day on the water, which is where we found ourselves for this weeks show on Lake of the Woods.  We’re back at Grassy Narrows Lodge, which we love because of its secluded location on an island as a part of the vast expanse of Lake of the Woods. We’re once again joined by Pete “the muskie guru” Maina, as well as Duke Basketball legend Christian Laettner.  Both of our guests are excited at the prospect of seeing Blake catch her first muskie on either a sucker or bait - or both!

The fall muskie pattern is in full swing, and that means live suckers.  Suckers have been at a premium these last few falls, so Pete will also rig the “used” dead ones into a jig rig to be jigged vertically. We’re also casting, as well a vertical jigging lures too.

We’re her at the right time, and on the right spot, because right away we’re in the midst of a feeding frenzy, catching them on suckers & lures.  Some come within just a few minutes of each other!

This is one of the craziest muskie days that we have ever experienced!

The chaos continues!
