Muskie Fun in Hayward

Show Date: October 7, 2023

Location: Hayward Area, Wisconsin

We always like getting up to the Hayward area, and have the Muskie Guru himself, Pete Maiina, show us around his home waters. We’ve been fishing with Pete for over 30 years, and he always has a spot to fish and look for the great esox.  It’s a fun couple of days, with two great friends; Steve Salisbury and Dave Brown.

Episode 42

Amazing Fall Perch Bite

Show Date: October 14, 2023

Location: Mississippi RIver, La Crosse, Wisconsin

Guide: Vince Moldenhauer [(414) 791 5534 | greatriveroutdoorsllc.com]

We had a very special trip this week. We got out on the Mississippi River to jumbo perch, and we were able to bring longtime friend and guide Big Dave Ehardt along with us. Dave spent a lot of time on this river when he was attending college, as well as afterwards before he settled in Wisconsin Dells to start guiding.  There weren't any perch back then, so Dave was very excited to get out and get after these fish.

Capt. Vince Moldenhauer is our perch guy on the Mississippi, both on open water and ice.  The fall bite has been getting better and better each year, and we hit a perfect day in terms of both fishing and weather.  Vince does tell us that as the temps drop, the fishing gets even better, which is hard to believe, since we had a 3-man limit in just a few hours of fishing.

Episode 43

Fall Walleyes on Bobbers

Show Date: October 21, 2023

Location: Bay of Green Bay, Suamico,, Wisconsin

Guide: Brett Jolly [715-581-5678 | captainjollycharters.com]

Capt. Brett Jolly has a unique bite that I can say I’ve never seen done in the fall, walleyes on slip bobbers.  Brett has us out on a beautiful day in October on the west side of the bay of Green Bay. He says the fishing can be really good this time of year, and there are a lot less other angles to contend with as well.

Episode 44

River Pontoon Angling

Show Date: October 28, 2023

Location: The Wisconsin River, Stevens Point, Wisconsin

Guide: Taps & Tackle Guide Service [tapsandtacleco.com]

We love fishing the river, purely because you never know what you’re going to catch.  Matt of Taps & Tackle Guide Service has a very unique set-up for fishing the river, a pontoon boat. Fishing out of a pontoon is such a relaxing way to enjoy a day on the water. Tons of space, and a place to warm up when the weather is less than ideal.

Matt has a few friends join us for a memorable day on the river that started out very foggy, and ended in sunshine with the beautiful fall colors on full display.
