Lake Michigan Perch & Trout

Show Date: January 2nd, 2021

Location: Lake Michigan, Chicago, Illinois

Guide: Captain Caleb Zorn [262-515-7944]

This week Captain Caleb Zorn has us on a pretty unique bite off the shores south of Chicago. Caleb tells us that there are many miles of accessible fishing area to target lake perch, plus lake trout or coho too.  So we try a bit of everything, heading into the rivers for lake perch in the morning, and out to the harbor later on in the day to target trout and salmon.

Episode 2

The Annual Fleet Farm Highlights Show

Show Date: January 8th, 2021

We’ve arrived at the new year, which we’re excited to get started, but before we start planning new fishing adventures, we like to take a quick look back.  We’re joined once again by Brian Sticka of Fleet Farm, who we’ll chat with about our shows highlights, and award grand prizes to a lucky few.

Episode 3

Ice Fishing Ely Minnesota

Show Date: January 16th, 2021

Location: Ely, Minnesota

Accommodations: A Stay Inn Ely [218-365-6010 | jaspercompany.com]

We alway make it a point to get to Ely Minnesota in the winter, because there is so much water to choose from, and due to the remote locations of the lakes, there is usually very little fishing pressure.

We’ve got several areas we are set up on; a few spots for panfish, and a swath of Beaver Dam’s set up for pike.

Episode 4

Non Stop Tip-Up Action

Show Date: January 23rd, 2021

Location: Stone Lake, Wisconsin

Guide: Steve Genson [715-558-3709 | http://www.fishhunts.com/ ]

We got the chance to get back up to northern Wisconsin with our old buddy and guide Steve Genson to focus on great northern pike.  We are primarily fishing Beaver Dam’s with large golden shiners spread out over a large area.  We‘ve been out on the ice with Steve before, and we’re always running for another flag, so we didn’t expect much different during this trip!

Episode 5

Jumbo Florida Bass

Show Date: January 30th, 2021

Location: Polk County, Florida

We’re “taking some time off” in the sunshine state to target the jumbo bass that swim in the freshwater lakes that dot the state.  We were invited by the great guys at Savage Gear, who will be providing us with their excellent rods and reels this year. Targeting 10+ pound largemouth bass is a great way to field test new gear, and their rods were more than up to the task of boating these beasts!

Pete Maina also joins us, as he’s helped develop Savage Gear’s line of muskie rods, and who doesn’t like a small break from the cold.
